Stem Cell Therapy

Stem Cell Therapy

The Sforza foundation will acquire 3D printers and will donate to public health hospitals worldwide, train the physicians how to manufacture their own stem cell devices and perform the treatment. Because of the efforts of our scientific team we will be able to provide a cutting edge stem cell treatment to less favourable populations (poor people) with a total cost of less than 1$ dollars per patient. All the materials, equipment and training will be fully funded by the Sforza foundation. Eventually our target is to be able to treat 100 patients with less than 1000$.

Why stem cells?

Prof. Sforza is the leading researcher on stem cell technologies for the last 15 years

What is the Stem Cell project?

Stem cells, discovered in the mid-20th century, have become a cornerstone of modern biology and medicine. These remarkable cells, capable of transforming into various cell types, offer a glimpse into the regenerative powers that lie within us. Initially found in embryos and later in adult tissues, stem cells have revolutionised our understanding of growth, development, and healing.

In the scientific odyssey of the 20th century, stem cells emerged from shadows into light, first glimpsed in the embryonic bloom and later in the marrow of bones, holding the promise of healing and renewal. They are the unsung architects within us, capable of transforming into any cell, repairing the broken, and rejuvenating the old.

As we journey further into the 21st century, the study of stem cells whisper a future where the boundaries of medicine are redefined, where organs might be regrown, and where the essence of life is not just preserved but profoundly understood. Thus, stem cells are revolutionising medicine by enabling the regeneration of damaged tissues and organs, with applications in heart repair, spinal cord injuries, and bone marrow transplants. Stem cells are also being explored for treating neurodegenerative diseases, diabetes, and eye conditions, offering hope for restoring lost function and curing chronic illnesses.

Professor Marcos Sforza on Stem Cell Therapy

Stem cells are the future - they will be the greatest tutor for the human body's self healing.

- Professor Marcos Sforza

"

Prof. Sforza says “In the last century, mankind was overwhelmed by the great achievements of the Industrial Revolution. We, physicians, researchers, and also the general population, were taught that we could now make machines that would fix most problems of the human body - artificial hearts, artificial lungs, knee and hip prosthesis, etc. It was embedded in our core the concept that we could replace the biological with the artificial due to human ingenuity. However, today, with the development of stem cell research we understand that there is another path. There is a path of replacing the damaged with the artificial but there is a much bigger path which is teach the body to heal itself.

Curiously as spoken by Professor Marcos, it is well established in surgery that the liver is the human organ with one of the highest regeneration capacities. That’s why liver donors for liver transplants can have almost half of their own liver removed to save a life and then in time a substantial part of the liver regenerates.

It is very interesting how thousands of years ago, before any of this knowledge, there was a specific choice for the liver in the Promethean myth as if there was much more sentient being that understood human biology. before man could even start to think about it it’s very difficult in science to believe for a scientist to believe it was can be very intrigued for a size scientist to believe it was only a coincidence. I always thought that Prometheus should be the patron of regenerative medicine.

Finally, history closes the circle and finishes this lesson to human kind by having a human, a Demi-god, a superhuman, called Hercules, saving Prometheus from his demise after 30,000 years. It’s almost like if there was a lesson that there will be a time when man would use regeneration to save the ones in need.
