Nigeria
A field in Lekki, for two days.
General medicine, dentistry, eye care and counselling, run side by side under canopies on borrowed ground, at no cost to anyone who came. Our delivery partner runs two at this scale every year.
It is the most documented thing the Foundation has done, and the whole day is published rather than summarised.
Costa Rica and partner clinics
Touch reimagined.
With Fundación Biónica we deliver 3D printed upper limb prosthetics to children and adults, fitted through partner clinics. Their own banner reads “we transform lives”, and Nico is what that looks like in practice.
A printed limb is made to a person rather than selected from a shelf, which is why the programme reaches children at all: a child who outgrows a fitting can be measured again rather than left waiting for one that fits.
They are not just limbs, they offer a different future.
Thailand pilot, United Kingdom in discussion
The work the Foundation was registered to do.
An ongoing pilot in mechanical stem cell separation, used to treat osteoarthritis, is running in Thailand. The separation device is printable, which is what makes it deployable somewhere without a laboratory behind it.
This is not a side project. The Foundation’s registered objects name osteoarthritis specifically: advancing the education of medical practitioners in treating it, providing equipment and resources to the hospitals that do, and supporting research into regenerative treatments on the condition that useful results are shared. Thailand is named in its area of benefit alongside England and Wales.
